From more than one hundred applicants, 24 publishers and agents have been awarded grants for visiting the fair. They represent Austria, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, New Zealand, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the US.
The intention behind the cooperation between the book fair and the Arts Council is to promote Swedish literature abroad and to increase the opportunity for Swedish writers to reach a greater reading public abroad.
- This is the third time we in cooperation with the Swedish Arts Council are making it possible for foreign agents and publishers to visit Göteborg Book Fair, says Anna Falck, CEO. We are convinced that this is a very efficient way to inform about Swedish literature.
- The Göteborg Book Fair gives foreign publishers and agents a unique possibility to be updated on the contemporary Swedish literature and this cooperation a part of our effort to interact with other cultural organizations, says Kennet Johansson, Director General.
