Cultural Contact Point Sweden - a presentation

Swedish Arts Council & National Heritage Board with support from the European Commission.

Offices and staff

The work of the Cultural Contact Point Sweden (Kulturkontakt Sverige) is carried out within two different organizations, Kulturrådet (Swedish Arts Council) and Riksantikvarieämbetet (National Heritage Board).

Objectives

The main objective of CCP Sweden is to increase the knowledge and awareness among Swedish cultural operators on the prospects for culture in the European Union programmes.

Activities

The main activities are to:

  • inform cultural operators in Sweden of calls and deadlines for the Culture Programme and to provide relevant applications forms,
  • by different means, help and guide applicants and other interested parties,
  • follow events and developments within the Community, concerning programmes, actions and other decisions of interest to the cultural sector,
  • distribute other information of cultural interest (documents, press releases’ etc) from the Commission and other EU institutions,
  • keep contact with other Cultural Contact Points and other cultural operators for information exchange and other activities, such as partner search.

CCP Sweden is using different methods to inform the Swedish cultural community. Information on EU and cultural matters is presented at the web sites of the two offices, information on calls and other activities are spread on mailing lists to around 2 500 receivers, and a bi-monthly newsletter is also distributed. We also organize seminars on the Culture Programme and give opportunities to discuss the details of the programme in person.

Cooperation

CCP Sweden cooperates with other EU information offices like Media Desk Sweden as well as with regional representatives and other national authorities.
CCP Sweden have also regular contact with the Representation of the Commission in Stockholm concerning exchange of general and specific information.
