The Arts Council monitors and analyses developments in the cultural sphere and, where there are problems or where reform is necessary, keeps the government informed. The Arts Council is responsible for statistics pertaining to libraries, the conservation of sites of cultural interest, museums, study organisations and money spent on culturally related matters.
