Below is a link to the list of books that during 2017 started their journey from Sweden to other countries, through grants from us. According to our statistics, the most popular target languages for Swedish literature last year are English, German, Danish, Polish and Russian.
The authors mostly granted are Sara Stridsberg for her novels and theatre plays, for example Beckomberga and others, Liv Strömquist and her hugely successful comic book The Fruit of Knowledge (Kunskapens frukt), Elisabeth Åsbrink with her prize winning nonfiction book 1947, Kristina Sandberg’s novel trilogy about Maj; Care for one’s own (Sörja för de sina) and Rose Lagercrantz and her children’s books about Dunne (Life according to Dunne).
As to genres we note a large interest in fiction (85 approved), children’s fiction (46 approved) and nonfiction (43 approved).
