1,9 Million SEK for Translation of Swedish Literature

The second round in 2021 for Nordic and Non-Nordic translation grants has closed with an outcome of 1,9 Million SEK awarded to 105 different book projects. 141 applications were submitted all in all, which corresponds to the level before the pandemic started.

World Summit on Arts and Culture 2022

In 2022 we are hosting the 9th World Summit on Arts and Culture together with the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA). The summit will bring together leading policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from the arts and culture sectors to discuss how to safeguard artistic freedom.

New programme to strengthen artistic freedom.

Programme for artistic freedom

The Swedish Arts Council has launched a new programme to strengthen artistic freedom globally during a three-year period (2021-2023). The programme is realised through financial support from Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and aims to improve conditions for artists to create, display and distribute their work without being exposed to threats or harassments.
