Programme for artistic freedom

The Swedish Arts Council has launched a new programme to strengthen artistic freedom globally during a three-year period (2021-2023). The programme is realised through financial support from Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and aims to improve conditions for artists to create, display and distribute their work without being exposed to threats or harassments.

Spring crisis support

Both application rounds for crisis support are now closed. 1,300 have applied for crisis support for cancelled and postponed events and we received 2,900 applications for crisis support for special needs. In the coming weeks, all applications will be processed and decisions are scheduled to be made in May.
