In the Book Tasting, the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books goes through the previous year’s entire set of publications of books for children and young adults and presents the works with the usage of statistics and in-depth analyses of prominent themes.
We have finalized the second round of applications for translation grants 2022, The amount of applications was slightly lower than in previous rounds, but notable is the steadily growing interest in Swedish books for young readers.
In this year’s second application round 24 projects for work related travel, sample translations and mentorship were approved. The round includes sample translations of two dramas by Sara Stridsberg and in September several translators will travel to the Gothenburg Book Fair.
We are pleased to announce that 26 fiction publishers and translators will participate in the Gothenburg Book Fair Fellowship program, September 21–24.
The prestigious Le prix Max Jacob, founded in 1951, rewards each year a French poetic work and since 2004 also a foreign poetic work in French translation, thus giving this award an international dimension.
