Distribution of grants for promotional activities

Book talks and tour in USA, book launch in France and focus on Swedish and Nordic literature at festivals in Turkey, Germany, and Serbia. That are some examples of what is being granted in the third application round of grants for international promotion of Swedish literature and drama.

Some of the activities that we support:

Balsam Karam is invited to the USA to participate in book talks in San Francisco and New York in order to promote The Singularity (Singulariteten) published in English translation by the Feminist Press. Marit Kapla will visit Spain to promote and launch the Spanish translation of Osebol, Kapla is also invited by the Embassy of Sweden for a book tour in the USA. In France there will be a book launch of the novel Malma Station by Alex Schuman arranged by Editions Albin Michel.

During the Nordic Literature Days at the Literaturhaus in Hamburg, Germany there will be an event with focus on Swedish literature. The Nordic theme is also present at Nord Fest in Serbia with the author Patrik Lundberg as their main guest, his novel Fjärilsvägen (Put leptira) was recently translated into Serbian and published by Treći Trg. During GalataPerform in Turkey the playwright Malin Axelsson’s play Chefen will be translated into Turkish and performed in a stage reading.

We are pleased to see many applications of high quality which enable Swedish literature to reach out internationally.
