Participants in the Gothenburg Book Fair Fellowship 2025
The selection of participants in the Swedish Literature Exchange fellowship program at the Gothenburg Book Fair, 24–27 September, is now official!
To increase the knowledge of Swedish literature and the Swedish book market, we are organizing a fellowship program in collaboration with the Gothenburg Book Fair. In 2025, the focus is on literary fiction.
We have selected 20 participants – 11 publishing houses and 9 translators – from 13 different countries, representing 12 languages.
The program consists of lectures, meetings, panel discussions and lots of information about the Swedish literary world, as well as time for individual programs.
– It is such a pleasure to arrange this fellowship every year. The fellowship offers an overview of what’s going on in the Swedish book market, and a chance to get a bit closer to authors, editors, translators, agents and the literature in itself and it feels great. But the most rewarding for us is to listen to people sharing thoughts and experience with each other, and we learn a lot ourselves. The world gets bigger during a few days in one of its northern corners! Says Susanne Bergström Larsson, Head of Swedish Literature Exchange.
– The Fellowship is an essential part of our international mission. It builds bridges between the Swedish literary scene and the world, and creates lasting professional and personal relationships. For us at the Book Fair, it's inspiring to see how these days of exchange and discovery contribute to new collaborations, deeper understanding and a shared passion for literature! Says Oskar Ekström, Book Fair Director.
