Support for festivals, workshops and book tours
The first funding round of grants for 2026 aimed at the international promotion of Swedish literature and drama has now been concluded. In this round, grants have been awarded 23 applications featuring a diverse range of literary events.
Below is a selection of the projects we are glad to support:
Rámus Förlag has been awarded funding for a Swedish–Mongolian poetry translation programme, featuring invited poets representing three decades. Burcu Sahin, Athena Farrokhzad and Pär Hansson will take part in translation workshops, readings, and conversations.
Haus für Poesie (Literaturbrücke Berlin e.V.) in Germany has been granted support to invite Judith Kiros and Linnea Axelsson to participate in this year’s poetry festival. The 2026 festival theme focuses on re-writing the Western canon.
The poetry festival Goran’s Spring in Croatia has received funding for the participation of Swedish poets Sara Hallström and Jenny Tunedal. They will take part in a curated programme of public poetry readings, discussions with international poets, and educational events.
We also support Lerner Publishing/Gecko Press' invitation to Per Gustavsson and Anders Sparring to participate in the Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye, as part of promoting their books to the English-speaking market. Gustavsson and Sparring will be taking part in the family programme, which will include a book-signing session.
